I'm employed by the state of Minnesota. My job is to make available all (or at least a significant portion of) the documents that are produced by the Minnesota Legislature available online. It sounds easy enough, but if you've ever tried to follow a legislative session you'll know that the legislative process is a complex and intricate one.
On a daily basis I'm grappling with the arduous task of presenting the legislative session in a comprehensible format. The ideas and theories I come up with aren't doing anyone any good trapped in my thick skull, so I decided to create this blog. The idea is to regularly post my thoughts and opinions on government transparency. This information belongs to the public, and I'm going to need everyone's help to ensure that this information is appropriately accessible and usable (I'm kind of an idealist like that).
So, on that note, let the blogging begin!
